Gunther Russells as he is known in Earthworld, can be a difficult person to read, perhaps partially because of his general reluctance to speak. It isn’t so much that he has any fear of speaking, rather he sees little need to do so and what little does come out of his mouth tends to be blunt, he isn’t good at disguising his thoughts, nor does he feel as if he should. When he does actually speak, it is slow winding and all proper like, most of the time. His accent sometimes slips in on the occasion, which is part of the reason why he takes care of his speech, almost making him sound like a drunk, a side effect of hanging around actual drunks and learning their language. His speech is also filled with older slangs. Other times, he isn’t quite so understandable, especially when emotions come into the mix such as annoyance. Or when he feels comfortable enough and knows the other person well enough to let himself slip back into it. His speech becomes rougher, louder and a bit obscure at times, almost gruff sounding. Gunther doesn’t much bother with manners most of the time, he isn’t a kid and by blazes he can get away with it too looking like some halfcocked teenager after all despite his actual age. Titles, who needs them? He’ll give other titles if they continue to insist that he is a kid and not all of them are kind. His phrasing isn’t the prettiest of things to behold, but he refrains from actually cussing. His accent is thick and at times hard to understand and rather colorful. Gunther isn’t the most sociable Celestial Spirit at a glance, considering the fact he doesn’t mind the quiet nor does he seem to be the most approachable. Most of his thoughts have to be derived by his facial expression, as he isn’t one to stand around and talk. He is much more action oriented, allowing his accomplishments to speak for themselves and is exceedingly independent.
Despite his appearance, Gunther is pretty mature, at least he fancies himself mature. Just he is pretty rough around the edges, he doesn’t have that gentlemanly charm, just himself. His normal demeanor tells him as a calm, patient man that is a bit on the stoic side and while that is true, it is also a bit of a façade. His temper is mostly reigned in yes, but it is a rather short one... the worst is notably when he doesn’t display his anger for that means that he is furious. Gunther doesn’t see the need to lie either, so he tends to be pretty honest even if it might have just been better to lie with the exception of who and what he is. That is a pretty big stumbling block for him and he isn’t the most open man in the world either, being one of those quiet sorts to most people. He’ll deny his celestial heritage with every bone in his body even with the damn magic, he just is Gunther. One of the two best ways to get under Gunther’s thick skin is either by referring to him as a kid or pushing him on his somewhat unique physical traits as a result of being a Celestial Spirit. It gets old rather quickly and is not advisable as he is rather territorial and aggressive.. That or being a coward, goddesses does he hate cowards with a burning passion after all it means you’re just so much of a kid that you can’t accept the consequences for your own action like a babe. Still sometimes it is hard to get him off guard, for he is pretty rational and collected, part of the reason why he sometimes seems stoic; his expression doesn’t change too often. That is probably a good way to describe this mature semi façade, it is a shield of sorts as he rather be acknowledged for being himself rather than a damn celestial spirit you can call on if you find his key. While patient himself for the most part, not too many are patient for him for good reason.
Gunther is responsible for the most part, and is willing to concede his wrong doings and fix them, even if he sometimes comes off as aloof. It takes a special kind of courage to admit when you’re wrong rather than traipsing off. Despite his hard exterior, he does have a pretty large soft spot on his heart, he just doesn’t take to wearing it on his sleeve. Just a matter of getting him to open up and despite his quietness, he surprisingly isn’t as much of a loner as his demeanor leads one to believe. To those that manage to get him out of his pseudo façade, another side begins to show. He is pretty sympathetic, and is willing to lend his power to those in need, even offering protection for the weak as long as they recognize such weakness in themselves. Gunther does believe that even if he gets nothing back in return for those he helps, he still gets something that maybe you just can’t see. He’ll extend a hand to anyone who asks for help albeit sometimes grudgingly and gruffly. Though he isn’t a hero as a hero wants recognition for what they do, he doesn’t want it at all, he gets what he needs. He is pretty observant too, not just your average kid off the streets and though he has been out of society for quite a while, picks up on the little things. Stupid he is not and yeah he can be suckered in by other’s emotions...sue him for having a heart. Gotta really get him to open up in order to actually see his emotions though; he’s got a mean poker face when he isn’t smashed. Gunther is pretty slow to warm up and make connections on the account he still hasn’t quite gotten over the idea that yeah, he’ll outlive most of the people he knows, but once you make that connection just try cutting that cord. He can be overtly loyal which comes with the territory. Oh, he is also a smidge protective, just a smidge. At the bottom of it all, he is by nature a protector even if he can seem overtly fierce and at times impulsive due to his short temper.
Gunther is pretty self confident, his confidence built up from years of working by himself leading to full belief in his own abilities. For the most part he is comfortable with who he is, except well physically, but he isn’t over confident, because hell there is always something or someone better than you are and it will bite you in the arse. Sometimes this bite is quite literal. Even with his self confidence in spades, he stills falls into the trap of actually caring just a bit of what others think of him. Considering how much he hates being considered a celestial spirit since most mages don’t always see them as people, he goes to great length to prove otherwise, sometimes being utterly stupid in the process and accepting challenges to prove his worth. In other words Gunther can be stupidly brave for all the wrong reasons and for all the right ones too considering he has a strange if not strong sense of righteousness that guides him morally. He will never back away from a challenge, that would be the coward’s way out even if he knows he can’t accomplish whatever stupid task he may put himself to. Who knows maybe he’ll surprise himself one of these days, but it doesn’t stop him from trying. If he fails, well he’ll just pick himself back up by his boot straps, dust himself on and go right back at it… persistence to the point of success is a completely under rated virtue. After all it can always be worse and a bit of failure is nothing in the long run that is his life. Letting it get in his way is just being a defeatist, you just gotta keep going and learn the lesson.
Gunther thinks he might be the most mature out of the Celestial Spirits, but that is a bald face lie, even if he does believe it. It shows especially when he opens up, as he can pretty rather petty. The language that comes out of his mouth can be a bit vulgar and what really makes him a child is how he hides a part of himself, the part that has a terrible sense of humor and holds back his emotions. Maybe it might come as a shock, but Gunther takes great enjoyment out of pranks and other nonsense, even his sense of humor is pretty immature. Yeah internally he wants to laugh alongside you, threaten you with juvenile threats. Hell he even is a bit petulant and goes off into his own world when he finds something particularly fascinating. His curiosity about the world and how it works is on par with that of a child’s and he takes great joy in deconstructing the world about him to figure out just what makes it so tick. It is in these moments that it becomes clear that he takes great joy in the world around him and that he is in fact rather passionate as well as creative. Though it is for this reason that he feels that anything worth doing should be done right and by hand and when he puts his mind to something it will be done one way or another. Gunther is still pretty idealistic, though realistically so as he follows the idea that it can always be worse and that with enough effort; yeah you can change your station in life. Despite his pretty serious nature his is pretty much carefree and content, just got a serious case of wandering feet… and possibly thrill seeking. He seems to also believe heavily in the ideal of Karma.
It is rare to see him truly relax like this, let his guard down, but he does make some pretty funny faces. Or one could always just get him drunk, he likes alcohol more than he should due to the difficulty of him actually acquiring it. He is a pretty happy fun loving drunk, even if it totally regrets in the morning…. | Physical | Face Claim: Inazuma Eleven, baddap sleed by Xī Fāng Báihǔ
Height/Weight: ---6’0”, 150 pounds
Body Type: --- Although his body is concealed most of the time by a green jacket lined with white fur, Gunther has a rather wiry body that has minimal fat on it. While he doesn’t normally put himself on display, he has wide shoulders and almost gangly arms in terms of length. While his body matches well, he does have somewhat longer limbs than most humans giving him this gangly look, almost awkward teenager stage in terms of growth. While fully grown, he does not appear such due to his limbs. He is fairly muscular, though once more not overtly so, toned due to his own athletic lifestyle. His jacket visibly hides his body’s features, but it can’t quite hide the fact that he is rather lithe almost willowy. Once again it appears as if he hasn’t filled out yet, despite being of the age to do so.
Abnormalities: --- Many to say the least as being attributed primarily the concept of war as a celestial spirit has caused him to undergo a few incarnations as the concept changes. His coloring itself is rather unique as he does have dark skin, red eyes and white hair, none of which match. It isn’t like he can pass for an albino and even more so is the fact that his eyes almost appear to be cat like hazed with red, akin to a depiction of blood lust. Unlike quite a few other celestial spirits, he has gone to great lengths to hide his odd physical attributes. His nails are noticeably black in color and curled slightly, much longer than a normal male would keep them, including his feet. It should also be noted that on both hands and feet, Gunther has pale callouses on them akin to paw pads. As a result he wears gloves to hide the small feline claws he maintains normally. Gunther’s hair is naturally wild and messy, and it has been exacerbated in order to hide his ruff of fur as well as his distinctly pointed tiger ears that lay somewhere in the mess of hair. The ruff of white fur, meant to protect his neck is attributed often to the green jacket he wears, which he claims is fur lined. It also tends to hide the cat eye like black mark on his forehead. His body itself appears to be rather scarred, as there are jagged pale gashes on his dark skin. This is incorrect, it is merely a manifestation of his stripes, hence why he generally keeps his body covered. It should also be noted that he naturally does have a tiger tail, but it is keep wrapped around his waist.
Faction/Guild Mark: --- None, though Gunther does have a mark on his forehead that is similar to a rune, a circular eye like figure outline in black that then encircles his head. It is one of the largest tell that he is a Celestial Spirit for it almost appears to be that of a Cat’s eye.

[/b] – This is actually Gunther’s first weapon and only weapon it is and yes he made it himself. Took him a while to actually be able to use it without hurting himself as it is a five meter link of semi heavy chain with two three kilogram metal balls on the side, one is bound to hit themselves with such a weapon. It used to be a pretty decent weapon though it is inherently a difficult weapon to master. The weight on both sides of the chain keeps the weapon in balance or else it would be much harder to control. No pain no gain with this weapon, it is completely offensive though it is difficult to use properly without a few years of experience. Though having two “hammers” swinging around makes it hard to approach Gunther without some sort of caution, he can only physically attack with one part of the weapon due to concentration and physical dexterity needed. Notably Gunther has mastered kicking the hammer to increase its speed and change its direction as long as he remembers where the other hammer is. The weapon is rarely actually pulled on, instead wrapping around the body and using the body’s motion to maintain momentum. Shin and Knee Guards - Weak flimsy metal, but they allow him to use his knees and elbows in order to knock his meteor hammers around. They’re getting up in their years, Gunther doesn’t seem to notice too much. Knife – What… it is a simple knife used primarily for survival and what not. It is so small it can’t even be called a hunting dagger, but it seems to be in better condition than the rest of his gear, not like that is saying much. A multifunctional tool that can be used pretty much in every situation. Green Coat – A large green coat that appears to be fur lined... it isn’t, it just helps cover up some of Gunther’s more unique attributes. Rope – Just a simple coil of rope... really what idiot would live in a forest without at least one coil of rope huh?
