It seemed that her slight teasing had the effect she had wished for, and it made her giggle seeing how much Alduin was blushing. He told her that he was jealous of himself for having her, and that she was not only beautiful, but good at almost everything, something that made her blush rather insanely. The things she happened to be good at weren’t particularly useful skills per say, apart from the cooking and flat-pack furniture expertise. But those things were more of a necessity for her to learn, so she never considered them particularly good skills. By this point, she had begun packing the furniture into separate large bags so that pieces wouldn’t get confused, and she didn’t have to hide her blush because she knew that it would have already been spotted. “Well… the things I’m good at are a means of ‘sink or swim’, really.” She explained, brushing them off as things needed for survival.
Not long after saying this, her beloved told her that he was finished dismantling the furniture, and she continued to pack it all away into separate bags. He asked if there was anything else they needed to do now, and she finished her current job before getting to her feet and placing her hands on her hips, looking at the paintings that decorated the walls of her main living space and pointing at them. “We should take all of these down and pack them too, to help brighten up your… I mean, our home.” She smiled upon thinking of this realisation; the mansion was for both of them now, of that it was rather obvious. Alduin commented on how it must have been hard to move in here alone, and she nodded slightly as she surveyed the strangely empty living space now. “It was challenging, but I managed somehow.” She replied, giving him a small smile as she remembered the early days spent in this apartment. She hadn’t slept until it was all decorated, because she didn’t feel comfortable otherwise. Her lover assured her that although he didn’t look it, he was very strong and able to do all of the heavy lifting. She placed a hand over his upper arm, where she could feel the well-toned bicep muscle and she giggled softly, nodding her head. “I don’t doubt it.”
She piled all of the bags with the flat-pack furniture on top of one another, and then got to work rolling up the large crimson rug on the floor, leaving bare boards beneath it when she rolled it all the way back. When it was all rolled up, she stood the thing up leaning against the wall near the door, and then proceeded to take down all of the paintings she had spent hours creating for her apartment. In between taking the paintings down, she noticed that Alduin was staring through into the master bedroom too at the four-poster bed that she had been glancing at nervously before. He asked if the bed was important to her, and she nodded slightly in response with a small smile. “It’s a comforting thing.” She explained in short. Not to mention she had a passion for older medieval-style furniture, which just happened to be ridiculously heavy. When he said that he could carry it for her, she was surprised; even though he was strong, was he really that strong? She stopped in her work and watched in awe as Alduin picked up the bed with ease, before realising what he had done and placing it back down, despairing about it. He said that he was a monster, and begged her not to leave him, and it tore at her heartstrings just hearing it.
She hurried across into the master bedroom and proceeded to hold him tightly, wrapping her slender arms around him and holding him close. After spending a short time in silence, she raised her head and gently placed a hand at the back of his head to angle it down so that he would look her in the eyes. A small smile touched her lips and she stood up on tiptoes a little to place a tender kiss on his lips. “You’re not a monster for being strong, and you’ll always be my prince. Always…” She told him sincerely, without blushing even the tiniest bit as she expressed her feelings towards him. How could she look at him any differently? He would always be the young man she had fallen in love with.
