It seemed the plan would be executed as planned, the man would sneak around back, and Bunji would go through the front the young red head walked casually into the bakery. He already had an advantage in this little investigation because he could easily talk to the old man, he had seen Bunji plenty of times before in the past. As the young man walked in through the front door, the familiar ringing of a bell reached the ears of an elderly man who was kneeling behind a counter filled with orderly stacked baked goods once inside Bunji would smile waving at the man. ”Ah hello young man!” the old man said as he raised his head over the counter to see the familiar face who had arrived at his bakery. Bunji walked over to the man leaning on the counter, “How’s it going?” he asked as he looked around his crimson eyes scanning the see through glass that covered the warm goods, his gloved hands rested on the surface of the glass. This allowed him to feel the warmth that was coming from the many pastries that had surely been baked early this morning, Bunji noticed there was no one else inside of the bakery, which was odd.
“Business is slow today?” he asked casually as he pointed out at a nearby pastry that consisted of a flurry cake topped with strawberry cream, and a strawberry rested at the very top he eyed it with gluttonous eyes as the old man reached for the pastry then brought it over to Bunji. Taking it over the counter the red head paid for the pastry eagerly biting into it, his teeth easily breaking off a piece of the buttery soft bread, and immediately in his mouth the combined flavor of the strawberry cream, and the soft break mixed in his mouth. The young man’s eyes would tear up as he enjoyed the mouth gasm he experienced before swallowing the piece of pastry, the old man would chuckle happily as he found great joy in seeing his hard work being appreciated.
“So how have things been?” Bunji asked as he continued to chew the pastry, the old man continued to work flattening out a piece of dough ”Fine…It has been quite the day today” he said in response. Biting into his pastry once more, Bunji spoke with a full mouth “What do you mean?” he asked curiously, all the while wondering where Nexus was, and if he had found anything out, or if he had even gotten inside yet. ”Oh well, I have this vermin problem” the old man said upon hearing that Bunji stopped chewing, wide eyes looking at his half eaten pastry, did this guy have roaches?! ”Not those kind of vermin young man….” The old man said suddenly, by this time he was staring directly at Bunji. The red head got that gut feeling, the one that told him he should get out of here as soon as possible, though he knew Nexus was still in there, and he couldn’t ditch the guy.
Finishing the pastry Bunji swallowed hard, “Let’s be smart about this old man, you are outnumbered, and all we want is answers” he said as he took a wide stance ready to react to anything. The old baker chuckled, ”Outnumbered?” he asked mockingly, ”I have more friends than you do in here…Besides your little buddy trying to sneak out back, I am sure he will meet some opposition” he explained with a coky tone, then suddenly the roll of dough the old man was rolling up would rise like a serpent behind him. Bunji’s eyes narrowed, “Shit” was all he could say as the serpent lunged at him….
With his hat resting atop his head, and arms crossed over his chest the man with the scar on his cheek stood there just over the edge of the rooftop looking down at the alleyway which led to the back entrance of the bakery. His sapphire like eyes scanning the area below like a hawk, and then he spotted him the man who he had locked eyes with in the crime scene with a wild grin on his face the individual quickly stepped off the edge plummeting down to the floor below. It seemed he would hit the floor quite hard, however before he touched it a rush of air shut up underneath his feet slowing his plummet, to a calm descent. With a click each boot touched the floor, and with a simple gaze the man stared directly at the would be intruder ”Hello”.
