His callous words ripped right through her. Mizuki stood frozen where he had put her down, eyes filled with guilt. She wanted to say 'sorry' and apologize for what she had done, but it was done and over with. After this night, she doubted that they'd ever cross paths again. His hurtful attitude towards her was something she deserved after all. So, she kept quiet and took whatever he had to throw at her. If being like that made him feel better then Mizuki wouldn't mind, though she had to wonder why he acted that way when she was a mere stranger. If anything, he should be jumping for joy at the free food and a chance to nab one of her master's most coveted possessions.
"Of course, of course. We'll get there soon enough. I just have something to ask my precious Mizuki," replied the heavy man, attention flickering back and forth from his slave to the boy who had finally released his hold on her. His tone was that of a friendly businessman talking to a fellow merchant. "Now, tell me your name, Boy. It would be rude of me to keep calling you that. And my name is Clarion Lonsdale, owner of Lonsdale Lacrima & Weapons and of course, the slave, Mizuki."
Clarion, however, was a sharp man and it wasn't a surprise that he caught the turmoil between them, causing him to feel all the more angry. With slight difficulty he managed to keep his mask of indifference in place while the bold young man walked past him, seemingly not caring about his slave. Though, in a way, his insulting of Mizuki cemented his claim at only wanting his reward. That had been a bit odd, but the slave owner decided to let it be and went over to Mizuki, who had kept her eyes on the man's back. His jealousy and possessiveness began to rage inside. How dare she look at another man! She belonged to him, and him alone.
"Mizuki..." He said her name so tenderly that Mizuki blinked and focused on her master, making him grin. Good. He was supposed to be the only one in her eyes; the only she should ever pay attention to. Clarion took a step forward which then caused Mizuki to automatically take a few steps back. "Oh, how you wound me, Mizuki. You would dare to step away from your master?" His easy-going grin turned malicious before he took one long stride and engulfed her into an iron hug.
Mizuki didn't have a chance as thick arms surrounded her frame. She gagged, not from some kind of smell but of the contact between them. Just as she was about to squirm out of his grasp, she spotted a cage emerging from the crowd of mercenaries. It was her bodyguards! And they absolutely looked miserable with small bruises on their faces. Fighting and doing everything in her power to keep herself still, she allowed her master to fill his need to be in contact with her. But Clarion was not pleased at all. Mizuki did not smell like Mizuki, but of the man who returned her. Casually, the master pulled away whilst taking off the fur-lined jacket.
"Hey!" Mizuki watched as her master waited for the man to turn around before throwing the jacket towards him. "I believe that belongs to you." It was then that the cage was in full view and only a few feet from Mizuki and her master, who had a wicked smile. "Mizuki... These men here were telling me that you used today's unfortunate riot to slip from their watch, and that you had been waiting for a chance to escape... again. Is that true?" Mizuki gulped and winced as Clarion took hold of her upper arm. She glanced at the guards and saw their apologetic eyes. Mizuki, ever kind and self-sacrificing, gave them a soft and reassuring smile before putting on an apathetic face. "Hmph. So what? I'm back and didn't get to escape. It's whatever, they're telling the truth. Now, unhand me!"
She tried to tug her arm from his grip but it was futile. Her master's clutch was like iron. "Hmm... That's not good, Mizuki." With a small gesture of his free hand, he ordered for the men to be released. Once the cage was empty, Mizuki was dragged and pushed into it. The master, who now had a mischievous expression, turned towards Mizuki's captor, "You want to know how I handle her? You simply..." He looked at the beaten guards then to Mizuki, who looked fearful at what he was about to do. "... Take away what she treasures and break her principles."
"No... You promised!" Small, pale hands gripped the bars. Mizuki was standing and glaring hatefully at the man of her nightmares. She was screaming now, and shaking as Clarion gave out another order for the mercenaries to knock out the guards and drag them away. "Bastard! You said you wouldn't do anything to them! You promised me!" Thoughts were racing as Mizuki tried to see past the crowd to catch a glimpse of where her guards were taken, but they were long gone.
"Did you really think you could lie to me and get away with it? This is your punishment, Slave!" Clarion was right up at bars, tone harsh and poisonous. "It is you who are to blame for their loss. You know my rules, and this is the third time that you have forced my hand. When will you learn from your mistakes?" Mizuki had had it with him! She couldn't very well hit him, not with her energy drained and bars blocking her way. Her master was right. It was her fault that they had been taken away. She gritted her teeth in frustration and looked away from Clarion, who grinned at her reaction and began making his way towards his home. All the way back to the Lonsdale mansion, Mizuki was glaring at the back of her master.
I'll get back at you for this, Clarion Lonsdale. For everything you've done to me and the unfortunate people that had to work under you.
