SAY MY NAME AND EVERY COLOR ILLUMINATES Leading the way, April sped down the street, buildings facing them at both angles. There wasn't many people about, but she knew this own town well enough to know a shortcut when she saw one, and turning into a wider ally, they continued. Her smile, however, faltered when the sound of dark chuckles surrounded them and she backed up, nearly backing into one of the thugs who had seen them earlier.
Suddenly furious at being disturbed alongside her new friend, she frowned, "Just what do you think you're doing?" She spat with a hiss, her lips pouting, but no look of amusement met her accusing stare, but rather, greed...greed and the drive to do anything in their power to obtain it. She took a step backwards, scurrying out of harms way just as one of the thugs tried to grab her. She gave a little yelp, twirling her pen from its hairy socket. She turned and ran, hearing footsteps following her.
When she managed to reach a certain distance, she spun around quickly on her shoes, her pen forming a small bar that formed in the way of the charging thug, a burly man who seemed to take a fancy to the girl and the minimal amount of clothing she was wearing. The man, more distracted by her than watching where he was going, promptly tripped over her inky obstacle, falling on his face and knocking him out.
But before she could turn and see Alduin it seemed that most of the men were either gone or littering the street in a chaotic pile. Instantly, her eyes widened, unease settling over her as her ears gave a warning twitch that sent red flags waving inside of her head. A wise, less caring girl would have turned the other way and moved as far away as possible, but April, with a mixture of concern and curiosity, approached Alduin...or what had become of him.
Pushing back a row of red bangs only to have it bounce back against her forehead she leaned forward, eyes settling on his blood stained hand."Oh my god, are you okay? You know, you didn't have to do that all by yourself, you should have saved some for me!" She cried, trying to lighten the mood. And with that, she had already begun to move instinctively to get a better look at his wound...
