Well then. Before I type what I want to say here, let me warn everyone reading that I'm writing this as someone both frustrated and bothered by what I have been seeing, reading and hearing. Also, if you think anything written here is aimed at you, my only suggestion is to read what's said and do what you can to change this.
First off. I have been getting a lot of PM's along the lines of 'Can I do this.' Or 'My character is a part of ____, so can they do this.' Now there is a magic guide and guidelines. If there is a rule in one of those guides, or anywhere else on the site, it applies to everyone. Staff. Members. Characters. Everyone. As much as I'd like to promote freedom, if something is against the rules, no matter how you ask for it, I will say no. No one here is more special than anyone else. If something is against the rules or included in a ban somewhere, it's because it's not in line with how we intend the site to be run.
Second off. The staff are volunteers. They are not paid. I do not make money from running the site. I do not pay the staff for running the site. Does the site have a balance? Yes. There is an amount of money associated with the site. $-22 went towards the site's cboxes.
Now I have two points to be made with this. The first is that if a staff is sitting in the cbox, it's because they're chatting in the cbox. Don't bother them about gradings. Gradings will get done when they get done. Don't hint at gradings in the cbox. Honestly, no one should mention gradings in the cbox unless it's a question about a grading that has already been performed. Even then, honestly, unless the staff approaches you, you should bring it to PM.
Then extending upon that, please don't PM the staff asking them to grade something. Once again, the staff will grade when they grade. And once again, no one is more special than anyone else on the site. So a staff isn't going to jump up and skip gradings just to grade your character.
Next is the site plot. Our plot is open ended. There is a lot that you can do. There's a real lot you can do. My vision when I made the site was that it would be a mosaic of plot, since the site is meant to be plot oriented.
Plot needs to make sense. Dark guild guild masters should not be friendly with good guild masters. Quatro cerberus should not be buddy buddy with any mage. The Rune Knights are lawful characters who would be kicked out if they were evil in anyway. Keep in mind, there's magic in this world. Any archive mage in the RK will know if someone is hiding something. Also, Mermaid Heel is a neutral guild with absolutely no ties. The only relevance it has is that its mage make it the strongest neutral guild. The guild has not antagonized anyone. It has no enemies. There should be no hostility directed at it. And Mermaid Heel is not female only. that was changed.
I've put a lot of ambition into this site. A lot of energy and a lot of hopes. I am not liking what I'm seeing it turn into. Members were given freedom, and they have since abused it. If it keeps up there will be more restrictions added.
To summarize what I have said and to conclude it, no one is a special butterfly here. When you are done with your grading, post in the notification thread. Don't bother the staff about it. Plot needs to make sense. Characters making plot illogical will be kicked out of groups, or given a warning. If there are any questions, they can be PM'd to me.
