Chapter Two; Cutting ones wings.
Welcome to Hell. They were standing outside what appeared as a minor castle in and on its own. Black stones, huge enough to have been boulders if they weren't part of a wall were having the same effect as a border between the outside and the inside. A border where one could only traverse the front gate, as the walls themselves would allow for no trespassing. The atmosphere was cold and gloomy, and it sent chills down the young girls spine, but before she could ask any questions, Father placed his index finger onto her lips, gesturing her to remain silent. Explaining to her that this was going to be her home, Father started off showing her around the entirety of the area. There were the dining hall, the library, the masters bedroom - where Aki for the record, would never be allowed to enter. The last place he had shown her was the dungeon. It was entirely dark down here, and Father had to guide the girls way by the use of a torch. There were plenty of abandonned rooms there, and the scent was heavy and thick. Moist and uncomforting. It was the scent of blood... There were darkened corridors and strange noises coming from various different angles, echoing off the walls like a mad whisper. New arrival.. another?.. Aki thought she could make out several words from the gibberish, but in the end it all receded to the back of her mind.
An old wooden door was opened, and Aki was shown to her room. It wasn't very large at all. In fact, probably smaller than the room she had been given at the orphanage. A couple of iron bars at the top allowed someone to peek into, or out of her room, assuming they were large enough. On the outside a wooden bar was easily closeable, containing anyone without massive brute strenght in the room by merely dropping the bar. Sitting down on the bed, the door was slammed shut in front of her, and the bar was closed. Father welcomed Aki to the real world. A world in which she would become a soldier of great importance to him. A soldier that would soon find the latent abilities that the orphanage had been unable to discover. Quenching the flames of the torch, Aki was left in a darkness so enveloping that it threathened to devour her soul.
Silencing their screams... Fear, lonelyness, silence and the darkness. It was too much for Aki to bear. The girl was crying loudly, screaming and pulling at the door to get out. Kicking and hammering away, untill both her knuckles and toes were warm and sticky from self-inflicted wounds, bleeding and dripping onto the floor. The bed had turned out to be nothing of the sorts. It was filled with rocks, and the linen itself was thinner than a piece of paper. An open hatch was allowing cold winds to enter the dungeon, making Aki freeze like a dog. There were voices all over the dungeon. They were calling to her from the darkness, laughing at the misery she was enduring.. How much time had passed, she didn't know. Wheter it was day or night, she didn't know. Black rings around her eyes were indicating the lack of sleep. The extremely pale skin-tone revealed multiple days in utter darkness. Every once in a while, a plate with food had been pushed underneath her door, allowing her something to eat. There had been no interaction, although she had screamed her lungs out whenever she heard footsteps outside. Today, the door was opened. Aki could see him in the dark. The white eyes had gotten so used to being in utter darkness, that details had become clearly visible to her. It was as if the darkness was slowly becoming more safe than the light.
Fathers fingers wrapped around her wrist with such force that Aki screamed, attempting to kick and bite at the man to let her go, to no avail. The girl was roughly pulled through the dungeon, until they came to what appeared to be a laboratory. Moments later, both her arms and legs had been tied to a wooden board, raised in a vertical position. The sadistic smile on his lips were more than she could handle. Tears were running down her cheeks, and all she longed for was to be back in the sunlight. Back at the orphanage. Anywhere but this hell! "A good soldier is always quiet.." Fathers strong fingers pressed against her jaw, forcing Aki to unwillingly open her mouth. The struggle was intense, but she could see him heaving a bottle up above her head. Dragging her head upward, his sickening laughter increased as the bottle was unsealed. A green liquid inside. The letters spelling out acid. Without any further warning, the twisted mad-man poured the contains into her throat, with careful precision. A single drop at a time, over what seemed like an eternity. The pain was undescribable. It was burning away at her being, infecting her every emotion, taking over even her soul. Bleeding deep within, Aki was coughing but his hands held her steady..
Finally, he threw the bottle away, untied her hands and punched her so hard towards her center, that it all seemed to come out at once. The cough, the struggle for air. Blood was dripping from her lips onto the floor. With every cough, bits of flesh and blood splattered down onto the black stone. The vocal chord was slowly, bit by bit, being coughed up in such a grotesque and disgusting manner that the angels would weep for her fate.. Moments later, Aki had passed out. Never again would the girl be able to mutter a single sound.
