Okay, so I've been reading through a lot of the basic workings of the site. I've been going through some of the missions that have been posted for various different ranks, and somehow I felt like something was missing; So I ventured out to find it. I hope you'll recieve this suggestion well!
Story-Tellers!
A Story Teller is quite akin to what we'd find in a "Game Master" in the real world roleplay. They take up scenarios, and assist in creating epic stories for their peers to participate in. Controlling things such as traps, NPC's and general setting (weather, location and so forth.) The story teller becomes the driving force behind the story's progression. They generate uncertainty as to how a mission would go, how the opponents fighting style is, where traps and guards might be placed. In general, the idea is to spice up events, missions and scenarios by having someone else than the player themselves deal with all the third party stuff. It also allows roleplayers who prefer to tell stories rather than enact them with their own characters to do so.
How can this be implemented?
One very important thing to note, is that Story Tellers do not need to be staff. A story teller is simply a roleplayer that takes great joy in assisting fellow roleplayers having a great time. I'd suggest that a ST request board is made. Then all those who've been accepted or qualify to be story-tellers pick up these requests one at a time. Depending on the influx of daily requests (and amount of story-tellers available) the requirements to make a request in this board can change. ( For instance, only missions of C-rank or above may be assisted by a story-teller.) The rules can be tweaked in whichever way the staff see's fit.
Last, but not least, the Story Teller's reward for giving others an epic experience, can be exactly the same as those who've completed the mission. Every post a storyteller makes in a mission/event, gives rewards by the rules of missions, that the story-teller can then use on his/her characters as they see fit.
Thoughts?
