i've never known a man who loved me | It was quite the quiet day for a simple cup of coffee from the local coffee shop. With a book in hand, a pen clipped on her right ear; Eva held her cup and savored the aroma before taking a short sip of the hot beverage. A quick "ah" exited from her breath before placing her cup back atop the table, and then she continued studying her book. No other customer was around the shop that it turned the shop into the perfect library. It was so quiet that all she could hear was her own breathing, the waitress wiping tables, and a faint but solemn humming from the owner himself: peace at its finest.
She turned a page of her book before grabbing the pen on her ear. She wrote a few notes which she had on the table, making sure the important parts were well written and clear, capitalized and underlined a few times, even. She was studying a special book about a type of magic: demon take over. She had her eye on a few spells and "how-to's" which were very well specified on this specific book. She had a few more books at her apartment; some she had studied and some soon to be studied, all of great importance to her.
But setting the constant thought of demons and magic aside for a while, she took a glance at the waitress who continued to wipe the table across hers. She stared at her and observed her but not letting her own poise be disrupted. She was quite young, the waitress; a few years younger than Eva. She was obviously enjoying her cleaning as she had quite the smile on her pretty face. Eva also saw how fair her skin was and how graceful she was while wiping that table. She also saw how her chest swayed along with her gracefulness.
Eva's glancing was quickly disturbed as the waitress looked her way and gave Eva a smile. Eva in return, stayed cold and slowly went back to her studying, as if nothing really happened.
She was back to her little sanctuary, her silent monastery, her coffee shop of peace. She sipped her coffee once more and returned to her reading. She hoped that nothing could destroy this perfect serenity. |
