Mizuki always knew that some people could raise the dead; they had sick magic like that. This, however, was another thing entirely. The dead had risen themselves and without the aid of magic, or that’s what she believed. Either way, Mizuki was downright scared stiff of them. She had never been fond of things like that - the thriller, horror, and apocalyptic genres. Even if they were in books or shows or games, the young woman loathed them with a passion and was content in just leaving it to its fanbase.
But noooo, they had to actually be real.
A shiver went down her spine as she followed Nexus toward some random buildingl in Magnolia. Really, she could have been in some other place safe, but Mizuki, being the paranoid woman she is, forced herself onto his company for this mission. In times like these, Mizuki hated being alone and being told to stay in one place because it was “safe.” The mage always pictured herself being found and eaten and dying alone. So, she insisted in tagging along with Nexus’s mission. If she was going to die, well, might as well be in the presence of someone she remotely knows.
Hearing Nexus, she nodded her head despite following from behind. ”O-Okay.” Mizuki replied, a slight shudder in her tone. Her eyes shifted uneasily around their surroundings as she hunched forward slightly. The area around them seemed deserted but she wasn’t going to let her guard down at all. Then, when they finally slid inside the building, Mizuki felt herself relax just a tad bit while her partner began to look for the doctor and scientist they were suppose to protect and escort.
”Uhm… Nexus,” she called out to him in a whisper, hoping he heard her. Mizuki was, once again, shifting her sight around the entire floor and trying to look for anything out of the ordinary. ”We’re supposed to be waiting on another mage… Right?” There was a slight movement just a distance away in the hall connected to the large, open room they were in, and Mizuki was hoping and praying to anyone that it was the third person of their group or the doctor and scientist they were supposed to be helping.
