It was quite early in the morning, but there were already a lot of people on the grounds of the famous Kou Empire’s Colosseum. He never been there (it was his first time there) but based on what his customer said, the place was usually deserted, save for a few regulars, Quatro Cerberus members, and some idiots seeking for a door that never existed. Hell, if it wasn’t for a business trip, he wouldn’t even be anywhere in the Kou Empire. There were so many restriction and checks; one would think that the country was severely xenophobic. And don’t get him started on the weather. The sun was hellishly hot, the air dry and suffocating, and the jungle so damn humid!
Oh how Noel longs the gentle caress of the Southern Sea breeze, the shade of his favourite tree, and the festivities that never stopped. If it wasn’t for his boss dragging him along to see the gladiator matches, he wouldn’t even come near the abomination that the people call Meshki Jungle. Luckily they didn’t get lost navigating the greenery on making their way there. He couldn’t be able to imagine his fate should he get swallowed by the forest. The sun would probably kill him first before any beasts could get their claws on him.
“Sigh...” Noel moped around as he wandered aimlessly, not really sure what to do. His boss had proceeded to enter to colosseum ahead of him, hoping to secure seats before they were filled. It was unnecessary as there would be more than enough place for everyone (do they even have seats in a colosseum?), but he was too tired to prevent his boss from doing so. Judging by the number of people around, he daresay that it would take some time before the first event start, so he walked around the grounds aimlessly, looking for anything interesting that would worth his time.
Not far from him, a crowd of NPCs was placing bets in a rickety stall, hoping that their choices wouldn’t disappoint them. On closer inspection, there were no details on the participants, just vague description like “White-Haired Kid”, “Blue-Eyed Girl”, Blonde Knight”, and etcetera. Adjacent to the aforementioned stall was another stall; showcasing various weaponries, blunt and edged alike. As the sun heightened, its ray struck against one of the weapon, displaying the brilliant lustre of its craftsmanship. Directly opposite of the weapon shop was an armour shop, which displayed various light and heavy armours. A particular helm piqued Noel interest, as its shape reminded him of Phoenix Grave’s home guild.
“Hmm...”
