Remilia’s lips thinned as she watched her new hired help’s nimble fingers took a hold of the various wallets of the passing commoners. It was almost like an open show, yet none of these civilians noticed any of that, walking along like ignorant sheep. While, on the personal level, she couldn’t feel pity for them, despite losing what may be perhaps their pay for the week, she knew that on the macro scale, it was a big problem. The activities of the underworld messed with the workings of a nation, and while it does provide some useful services, it was a problem in the whole.
It was for that reason that, in Sindria, such large centers of underworld activities were outright eliminated.
Though, this country was far larger and it was hers to worry about. In fact, she was going to make the ruler of Fiore, Claire, worry her head off with just this fact. She supposed she should be pleased with her hired help; after all, who better to show her the workings of a criminal center than a person involved in it, even lightly as she seemed to be.
“Preferences?” Remilia paused for a moment. Of course, she had preferences to the kind of clothing fit for a queen, but it was unlikely that it would fit in with the nature of peasants and commoners. She would have to settle for less, but she wasn’t versed in the style of the lower class. She had seen plenty of them from the different kingdoms of the world, though none of them really stuck to her mind; they just weren’t impressive to someone like her with her refined tastes. Anything that she could get here that would fit her palates would probably just be a sad mockery of what she actually wanted, making the situation all the more unbearable. No, it was best to just let this young girl take care of her clothing needs. “No. You will have to choose for me.”
