Some changes that have come with the transition from v4 to v5 include:
Preview is embedded in post edit. You only need to click a button and you can switch between code and post preview. I believe posts default to preview in new accounts, but you can choose how posts are opened in your account settings.
v5 uses different ubbc from v4. v5 will try to translate v4's into v5, but it tends to mess it up. Before you start posting, try pressing the various ubbc buttons and seeing what they look like.
Style code comes with v5, but class and newclass tags do not. [div style="code"] [/div] is the format. I can Convert Templates as long as they don't have any hover or transition effects.
There is no table code here. You will have to use style in td tags to get the same effect.
When you have created a proboards account, or an account on this site, you can create more accounts by going to the bottom right and clicking the small icon with two people in it. That will let you switch between accounts on this forum, and add more. You can also connect accounts from separate sites.
Url's are located by name and by index. When I say that I mean this thread's url has a number (this is thread 329) and a title (this is thread v4-to-v5). When someone goes to that url, it will search for a thread with that title and that number. Even if the thread is moved, the url will still go to that link. This won't work if you change the title of the thread and move it. But if you remove the title part, leaving just the number at the end, the url will always bring someone to that thread. It can moved anywhere, and the url will still work.
That applies to boards to, but most members won't notice that as much.
Private Messages are like private threads now. Messages no different from posts. When you message multiple people it's the same as if they were added to a private thread. This is not like v4 where they won't even know who else was PM'd!
Edit One:
Also.. v5 uses Ajax, which means that threads may update without you changing the page.
And multiple posts can be selected at one time. Either go to the gear in the upper right of the post and then to select, or alt+click each post. Other Short Cuts
I'll add more if I think of them.
