This guy was evidently tough. No matter how many times Skyle was hitting him, he seemed to be able to withstand the blows. Not without receiving any damage, but enough for him to counter against the skilled fighter. And with his back to the man, Skyle knew that he was in a bit of more trouble now. Of course, that was until a blurred movement came upon his vision, and he glanced forward, finding himself staring at the blonde, as she placed her hands on her shoulder. The fighter in Skyle immediately read the woman's mind, and he grinned, as he quickly planted his right foot into the ground below him, the claws of his toes, even the back one, curving inwards so as to dig into the floor, giving him a secured leverage. And with that, he was able to provide a steadier platform for Egra to use. And off she went, over him and towards their enemy. Skyle wasted no time. He turned around, hoping for the best but preparing himself for the worst, his arms up and ready to cover Egra if need be. However, it seemed that their improvised strategy had succeeded, as she drove her weapons into the monster's neck, easily piercing through the soft skin. And with that, the creature was defeated, as it took a step back, gurgling, before falling upon the ground. Skyle would blink as he stared at it. Despite his death, though, the man carried a grin on his face. Skyle furrowed his eyebrows, evidently bothered by this, as he straightened his posture, realizing that the fight was over. He took a deep breathe, and gazed at Egra. Before any more words could be exchanged, she would suddenly busy herself with searching the man. Skyle simply stared for a brief moment, before releasing an inaudible sigh, as he finally released his magic. His legs would shrink back to their original human figure, and the mandibles upon his face would shrink back into his skin, fading away. And just like that, he was fully human once again. Well, he was missing footwear, but he was used to it. With that, he would begin to move nearer to the blonde, watching as she gazed upon a piece of paper. And suddenly, a shift of movement. Skyle's eyes widened, as he thought the monster to still be alive. Alas, that was not the case. Instead, he simply faded away into ash. As relieving as that should have been, Skyle found himself fearsome. That was not what he had expected. He gulped. They were learning. Egra would get back up, and walk past Skyle as if he wasn't even there. Skyle would follow her with his eyes for a moment, before staring back at the pile of dirt that used to be the monster they were fighting. And within the dirt, Skyle caught hint of something silver. He furrowed his eyebrows, focusing in on the object, as he got onto one knee. Brushing the top layer of the remains off, he pulled the silver object out of the pile. Dog tags. Thud.Skyle almost jumped as he turned his head around quickly, finding Egra suddenly on all fours once again. She was still weak from the fight. He glanced at the dog tag in his hand, before quickly pocketing it as he rushed over to her side. Once again lowering himself onto a knee, he placed a hand on the shoulder nearest to him. "I don't think it's a good idea for you to be moving around on your own just yet." He stated frankly, as his red eyes rolled down her body, once again gauging the severity of her injuries. desert locust egrasiya nightwalker -- LAIKA OF GS!
