Seven years. It had been seven years since Kai had suffered the loss of two important people in his life, one being his sister, and the other the one who taught him to be brave. He knew that neither were dead, but, he hadn't seen nor heard of either of them since they disappeared. Though, in the case of his sister, a better word would be "kidnapped". He had joined Fairy Tail in hopes of finding people to help him find his sister, but, he still had yet to really form bonds with many in the guild. However, he had heard a tip, a tip from a man on the shady side of town, that Hargeon Port was where goods of illicit nature were trafficked. Drugs, forbidden magic, black-market goods, and... slaves. He knew that his sister had been sold as a slave, but that, like mercenaries, they were bought and sold on the whims of richer men.
So here Kai was, on a tip, in Hargeon trying to find his sister, and yet, with all the ships that were there, he didn't exactly know where to look. There were too many, some that were just small sloops, others, giant frigates, and yet, no one of them looked like slaver ships. But that was the thing, they would be disguised. He walked hurriedly down the way, looking at each shop for whatever looked like it might be out of place, or might hold people, but, as he has suspected, it was a fruitless search. He was beginning to lose faith now, how could he search all these ships by himself without getting caught? Furthermore, was his sister even here? Or was he there at the wrong time? All of these variables played through his head, and he was fighting hard to quell the emotions that were brought up from remembering his sister and when he lost her.
As he was heading down the boardwalk he heard someone ahead and looked up to see a man, walking the other way, seemingly talking to himself. It was odd, Kai typically didn't go far from Magnolia, but this was a special occasion, and, if he was to find out if his sister was here he would need a guide.
By the time he had decided upon this the other man had already passed him, but he hadn't gone far. Kai turned on the spot and raised his voice. "Hey, do you know these docks at all?" he called, keeping his face hidden in the shadow of his hood. He hoped the man knew his way around, that would make things easier, and hopefully shorten his search.
