Skaldi was having difficulty reading Ciceros, working out what he was all about. The green-haired man moved and talked like a jerky stop-motion puppet, twitching here and there with crazed energy. His way of speaking was unorthodox, as well, and it spoke of a personality that was, at the very least, eccentric. But all this could just be a facade. Ciceros' manic, stuttering movements might simply be a front for several hidden layers of thought and cunning, and his cheery, chirpy demeanour a cover for a much more sinister agenda. Was it just because Skaldi now knew that the man was the Guild Master of Raven Tail? Would he have passed Ciceros' behaviour off as merely eccentric had he not known this? No. There was more to his unease than prejudice.
Skaldi didn't like the look of that weird grin he kept making, either. Indoors, without the glare of the sun to wash away the shadows from under his features, it looked almost predatory. But he said nothing, maintaining utter composure and managing to exhibit not a single sign of what he was really thinking. Even though it felt like his hackles, which Skaldi had to work hard to remind himself that he didn't have, were fighting to rise. Nodding agreeably in response to Ciceros' words, he led the man up the staircase and down the corridor leading to his office.
Once they were in, Skaldi shifted some stray paperwork out of the way to make the place seem slightly more accommodating, and wandered over to the drinks cabinet. "You'll have to excuse me, I don't have much of a selection to offer you from," he called over his shoulder. "I cleared out most of my predecessor's stock when I moved in." Skaldi's hand hovered over a bottle of vodka, but he retracted it discreetly. He would have to keep his wits about him during this meeting, and if he could get away with not taking in any alcohol, he would. It was only natural for the host to offer a drink, after all, even if he didn't take on himself. Had their situations been reversed, it would have been another matter altogether. "What can I get you?" he called again.
With Ciceros' beverage of choice in hand, Skaldi would walk back to the desk and place it down in front of the green-haired man, who should by now have taken a seat opposite him. Skaldi followed suit, sitting down in his own office chair, and waited for Ciceros to finish sipping from the drink if he was doing so before he spoke. This would give him time to ponder Ciceros' words. So according to the man himself, Ciceros wasn't here to negotiate some kind of deal, he was simply here to discuss the festivities in Akane? Well, Skaldi could believe if he wanted to. There was bound to be some kind of ulterior issue here.
Nevertheless, Skaldi merely replied with a polite smile and a nod. "I see. The festival? You'll be aiding with the arrangements as well?"
