The fall wasn’t bad. Nothing seemed to be broken or bruised, just a bit of pain pain in her legs as they had hit the gravel unlike that of her upper body. Urgh... Good thing I landed on something soft.” Mizuki thought to herself, figuring that the object she fell on were just piles of sheep cotton or something like that. But when she pushed herself up and hovered over the supposed pile of softness, Mizuki’s eyes widened. She had been wrong! It wasn’t a heap of raw clothing material, but a woman. A very familiar woman.
”Oh! Y-yeah, I am,” answered Mizuki, her eyes now narrowing as she tried to recall where she had seen her before. Too concentrated in trying to put the girl’s name to a face, the young woman was not conscious of their awkward position. That is... Until one of her bodyguards coughed loudly into his hand. ”Miss, I think it would be best if you gave her some room to breathe. I’m sure you knocked the wind out of her.”
Mizuki snapped out of her thinking, glanced down, blushed, and immediately scrambled away. ”I’m so sorry! So sorry!” She said, face turned away from the familiar looking woman. Her state of dress was embarrassing and Mizuki had to wonder why she would choose to wear those clothes. But as Mizuki stared harder at the woman’s face, something clicked in her memory.
It had been another day at the market. Her master, Clarion, had been running late and dragged her to an auction. That’s it! This woman in front of her was the slave that her master had been trying to buy off until everything fell into chaos and the lady was stolen from her previous master. That had been an extremely hectic day. Mizuki’s jaw dropped slightly, ”I knew I recognized you! You’re... Uh... Corn... Corn.” That was as far as Mizuki could piece together the other girl’s name. ”... The girl that got kidnapped at the auction.”
