This is something I hope to do once a month. It is something like a news article mixed with a site discussion. I will post mention some recent changes, some concerns, some things I would like to do, and members can give their input. With that said, here goes:

RECENT NEWS: I have archived a lot of the updates that were posted recently. Did not notice I was making so much. But the site isn't that old, so changes are to be expected. What I would like to focus on is what I did last night. Last night I pruned the Magic List and Guidelines. A lot of guidelines that could be done without were removed. Some were edited a little. There are too many to list, so members should go check them out.

CONCERNS: I have heard concerns from members, but what I want to include here are some personal concerns. This month my biggest concern is that it seems some members are trying to rank up as fast as possible. That is why the B-Class and S-Class adventures were added.

I know some people want to have strong, ranked up characters. Some enjoy the competition of getting to a certain rank first. But you're losing out on a chance to develop your character. Please don't use posts, threads or adventures as vessels to rank up. Have some fun, play around and have your character learn some new things.

STAFFING: I would like to add two more staff to the staff team. As many staff as we have right now, I don't feel like gradings are being handled as quickly as they should. Stuff may be getting approved within 1-2 days now, but when the number of members increase we need to be able to handle those gradings too.

Those that are interested in being staff here should PM me. In that PM you will need to tell me why you want to staff, what gradings you are interested in doing, what staffing experience you have, and anything else you think will help me make the best decision.

With the addition of these two staff I will also be re-arranging staff ranks and jobs.

ACCOUNT TRANSFER: If you want to move a character's rank, abilities and Jewels to another account use the edits board. I must warn you though that the account you're transferring from will have ranks, abilities and Jewels removed if you do this.

WORRIES: I have heard that members are worrying about FL and what may happen to it. Unfortunately I must tell everyone that.. It's not going anywhere. We began as a small site; as long as we have at least a few members and staff willing to grade stuff, FL is aiming to continue forward. I'm going to be blunt about this and say that anyone that has time to worry about the future of the site has time to grade if they are staff and have time to apply to staff if they aren't staff. Remember, stuff needs to be graded for the community to grow.

CRITICS: Besides staff I would also like some critics. There is no maximum number of these, anyone can do it. I would like for as many people to look at the site, the systems, the guidelines, etc. and tell me what they think. What do you like, what don't you like, what can be changed.

If you think a system should be rewritten, go ahead and say so. I'll rebuild the site if it means making it more fun, more interesting and supports more types of roleplayers. I cannot promise that every idea will be added or referenced, but I can promise that if I don't receive a suggestion it's not going to be incorporated.

PLOTS: Tell me, what are you all up to? Plots going alright? Got any plans in the works? Really post anything you want to discuss in this thread. Even if I don't get back to you, others may.

I might be interested in staff, but I'd also like to share some plots I've had with my characters!

Helot: This cheeky bastard has managed to wedge his way into a rivalry between Bunji. The two have ended up fighting each other and going on a mission where they have to work together to hunt down a killer!

Cicieros: The new Raven Tail Guild Master has found an unlikely friend/rival in Skaldi. Will plans for the festival go smoothly between them? Who knows!

April: Probably the most plot driven charrie I have; she has returned from her three year journey from around Fiore to return to her home town where she meets her old sweetheart, bunji, who, she discovers has been taken in by Raven Tail. Bunji ultimately tells her he doesn't want to be around her anymore because it was her who left him those years ago so she could seek and experience the world and strengthen her drawing magic. So a couple nights later she goes to a tavern, meeting a slave girl named Mizuki, who she becomes fast friends. On her way back from the tavern she stumbles back upon Bunji and they realize they can't stay away from each other. Planning on more lovey dovey plotting!

I definitely like this Odds and Ends thread thing. It allows regular members to give their insight and have a chance to see what's going on with other characters. As for the worries part... I have no idea why people are thinking that. Personally, I think this is a very active site and just like you said... All you need is someone else to post with, and there are a TON of people to get into threads with. Now... ONWARD TO PLOTTING!

MIZUKI KUROKAWA:
- Kai: At this moment, me and my brother can't do a "present" type of thread because we're waiting for Mizuki to escape being a slave. And since it's been so long since I've seen Kai, we decided it would be totally awesome to do a chain of "flashback" threads dealing with what happened in their past, leading them up to where they are now.

- Nexus Martel: Future love interest and a ton of drama. We got this whole adventure where Mizuki is saved by Nexus, and then deals with her master, Clarion, being all possessive and having this twisted love for her. It results in gaining a flying magic carpet and eventually ending up in Lamia Scale. We have so much going on that we've already planned out our next two adventures (Nexus's own plot and then another one for me) and what's going to happen like... Is Mizuki going to kill her master? Is she finally going to get over her phobia of being touched? Does she finally realize that she's in love (or, at least, attracted to) Nexus? Yep... We got dis!

- Cornelia A. Aitken & April Penn: Definitely going to be Mizuki's best girl friends. With Cornelia, there's going to be this awesome friendship filled with tension because of their views on being a slave. And with April, Mizuki will learn to loosen up with someone as outgoing and chill as her.

This is like the LA Times! >.> But yeah good to have these updates every so often. Anywyas I only have one character, but I have some plans for him.

Bunji

Besides the AprilxBunji plot I have going, I am also planning to plot something with him that will fill in the holes in those years after April left him. Show that Bunji isn't lazy now just because he wants to, but also because he has dealt with some hardcore stuff aside from April leaving him, so he kinda just lets life pass him by because that's the safe thing to do in his eyes. I wanted to bring in a character from Bunji's past, that reveals a time right before Raven Tail took him in, and right after April left, he finds these two other mages then the three become close friends, almost like siblings pretty much. However, one of them dies in a tragic incident, maybe the three go on an adventure, and bite off more than they could chew so leaving Bunji, and the other unnamed comrade as survivors. The other one can become spiteful towards Bunji believing it to be his fault, because Bunji is the one to came up with the idea of going on this adventure. I think it'd be interesting if that individual came back into the picture after so long, aiming to crush Bunji's life pretty much by taking away anyone close to him, and ultimately make an attempt on Bunji's life. Just think it'd be pretty entertaining to have Bunji pushed out of his comfort zone, and have to deal with the stuff he normally pushes aside, but take it to an extreme were he is forced to fight a man he once considered a brother.

I just need to find someone to RP this individual from Bunji's shrouded past.

[ALDUIN KOU]

Alduin's Plot

Alduin... Alduin... ? Where the river Styx ends or begins? An eternal question on the lips of the forlorn. I have planned A LOT of plot for him and have completed numerous threads already. Some include him meeting new peoples while others are him doing missions or just being dumb. One thing for sure is that he is not your ordinary lad. Some may consider him weird while others define him as the living incarnation of the sun itself. Yet, Alduin has a paranoia feeding on his soul, grinding against the depth of his very being. He is courageous , caring and always has a heart warming smile upon his face although he can be a little bit too hyper active at times. So far I plan to list all the threads he have done in a sort of small sequenced stories.

(below are some of the plots he has been in)

1. He have recently finished his first dungeon though that didn't went really well. Alduin have been having nightmares ever since he journeyed in that dark tomb with Marzo and haven't been able to get out of it. Right now he is trying to get over his fear while trying to explain how it was like to an unknown lady named Hazen that he just meet.

2. He meet with Ayane, a rather blunt and destructive mage who remains unfazed by his cheerful personality no matter how hard he tries. It was a coincidental meeting as they both ended up on picking the same mission. They had a small fight with a group of bandits which made him recall a little bit of his past. Fortunately it went well and both of them kind of developed a sort of small mutual trust at the end. Maybe he made a new friend? Future plots would definitely reinforce that bond although she hasn't fully acknowledged his ability yet.

3. He meet with a dark guild mage called Fang the Defiler recently. It was also a coincidental meeting as they both ended up on picking the same mission. Alduin initially thought that it was fun since the mission involved on making poses/pictures for a new model company though he was wrong. The day felt long although his teamate was enjoying it. They had the chance to have a small private talk while waiting and it brought up a little bit of his past. Awkward things happened with all the ambiances they had though overall the job was still fairly well done.

4. He meet with Obah for the Edolas Event. It gave me the chance to roleplay the past Alduin for a bit. It was fun to contrast the bold and uncaring personality he had then to what he is now. They are like two different persons although he still retains the core such as his unrivaled confidence. The entire process of the meeting was kind of weird since they actually meet with Oba's Edolas counterpart though it was smaller and blue instead of being all big and pink. Alduin first thought that it was an alien invasion as he freaked out before noticing that the little beast was no threat. He got intrigued and began to ask/demand questions from the beast though he was never taken seriously. He eventually gave up and the Edolas counterpart kind of left leaving him and Obah alone. A lot of awkward stuff in that thread!

5. He meet Lynn a slave when he first ran-away from his Kingdom. After wandering outside for a few weeks Alduin began to grow hungry. He wasted all of his money the first few days since he has never been taught about how to manage his money. The numerous fraud and the cruelty of the society has hit the young prince hard. He began to learn the hardship of life and realized that he was nothing without his royalty statue. Yet he kept on telling himself to not give up and to continue his journey. His unrivaled confidence and determination is what that allowed him to never look back. One night while he was begging for food he came across this house and meet Lyn a slave. She was nice enough to secretly give him some left overs although things didn't go well when her master arrived and discovered what happened. He beat her up before Alduin burst into a state of rage. He never knew that slaves were treated in such way as he had been hidden from these abominations during all his life. He was served by thousands of slaves within the palace though he had always thought that it was their job since they were paid and that they were living like any normal people. Wanting to save Lyn from her slavery Alduin attempts to buy her. If everything goes well , Alduin would soon find himself with a new traveling partner!

6. AJ Styles is one of the recent acquaintances he made. Alduin still doesn't know that she is the Rune Knight captain yet. There isn't much to be said about this since their adventure haven't really much began though they will soon enter the dungeon and hopefully come out alive if everything goes well. Dark moments about Alduin's past will definitely be revealed once again as they venture deeper into the dungeon.



7. April Penn is also one of the recent acquaintances he made. Quite an awkward scenario they have there! The plot starts with April sleeking into a private pool and enjoying herself while Alduin chases after a bunch of thieves that stole his money. While chasing the two thieves Alduin bumped into a lot of people , crossed a lot of intersections and eventually got lost. The only lead he had was a strange house in front of him which he assumed to be the thieves hideout as he stepped in. Once inside , the male suddenly had a change of mood as he found the climate fairly relaxing before discovering a pool and ... Well I think you get where all of this is going though it will definitively be one of the major awkward moments that Alduin will have in his life.


Summary: In all , I've been following my character's every threads. Every plot and adventure is worth something for me so I'll be happy to take on any kind of new suggestions if someone would like to plot. I made my character's personality kind of exaggerated since I liked how all the anime characters in Fairy Tail are. They all have their little unique traits and awkwardness to make them special and stand out hence why I gave mine a kind of awkward one as well. It is not to copy the anime but make my self feel more like that I'm actually inside the anime myself as I role play. Alduin was initially a really dark character who was prideful , ruthless and uncaring though I'm sure that not a lot of people would have taken a liking to him if I rped him like so. So far I've been plotting about his runaway part since I think that it holds much more character significance and development. It is after he runs away that his personality begins to change and that is what I'm currently rping out. In each of my thread he discovers about how much he have changed ever since he ran away and also facing new kinds of obstacles. The problems can be of any kind be it social/relation or moral though he will evolve afterward. It is about the simple concept of learning from his past experiences. Though he often reminds himself if it is really him that is talking and what his old self would have done instead since part of his old personality still remains and lingers inside of him. I have not decided on how my character will evolve yet though I do have the key point already. Whether he develops in a positive or negative way will all depend with the people he meet. Right now he is trying to suppress the inner darkness that is lurking inside of him though it might burst out and take over eventually. I've also been thinking about maybe making him joining a guild though that will remain as one of my future ''possible'' plots. Alduin gets motivated to become stronger after meeting with people and he also tells himself to do so in order to have enough strength to suppress his dark self. He wants to protect what is dare to him and also all the friends he have made. He may still be prideful but he is no longer the cold and uncaring prince he was. His greatest strength comes from his tenacity and will of learning. He does not fight to surpass others. He fight to surpass himself. The entire character concept is to make him push beyond his limits and facing his fears to become a great mage at the end as that is his dream.

Bumping this to say that Gravity and Medium magics have been updated. Characters shouldn't be using these magics to automatically grab and toss other characters around.
