Ever since Daniel had heard about Alexandra wanting to become a Rune Knight, he kept a close watch on the news regarding the new recruits to be indoctrinated amongst their official ranks in the ‘Daily Sorcerer’. It was, without being said one of the most difficult tests that one could take in their life time and it must’ve been quite hard on the boy, but nonetheless he did it. In a way, the swordsman was rather proud of the boy that he evolved into someone that he can be proud of rather than being stuck as the ‘knight-in-training’. It would be a long and treacherous path to become a warrior, especially those who wanted to become a ‘hero’. Daniel knew those types all too well. Many of them became delusional, and lost their way in a path of no return, but he was confident that he would never fall into such depths. As his teacher, as his mentor, as ‘Judas’, he was willing to see the boy through till the end.
‘Next stop: Onibas Station.’ The voice in the intercom loudly announced the arrival.
Putting the newspaper off to the side, Daniel picked up a tall, rectangular leather case colored black on his side. It was a graduation present for the boy, and he was sure that he would find it suitable though albeit too tall for him to use, however. Nonetheless, it would be an excellent decoration piece though it was perfectly suitable for combat by itself. The price… was rather outrageous, but it was the only the finest long sword he could ever find in Sindra. Ever since he became an Iron God Slayer, Daniel picked up on how to look at metal’s quality, any slag that he saw on weapons would be seen right off the bat as soon as he laid its eyes on it. This weapon was slag free, so it was less likely to snap in half in middle of combat when swung around by a warrior. With that in mind, Daniel headed outside of the lonely car with a hood placed over his head to cover most of his facial features and would take on the persona of ‘Judas’.
Ever since he took on this act, Daniel started to have friends and it made him wonder if he could ever start out new life this way as a new person, without ever picking up his sword or killing anyone. In fact, he could stop this tiring journey altogether if he wanted to and watch from the sidelines as the boy he taught grow into an ‘ally of justice’. The thought made him grip the handle of the case tightly.
No, that won’t do.
Such dream was far too sweet for him; it was undeserving of him to start a new life like this with all the lives he had robbed of to this point. It would make the reason why he swung his sword worthless and add onto the insult to those he had killed: men, women and child. All fallen indiscriminately by him. As such, he knew that he had to see this temporary moment of peace as fleeting, nothing more than a brief catch of breath; even so, he was thankful that a god would give an irredeemable sinner such as himself such luxury.
“Well then, I should get going. I don’t want to keep the boy waiting now, do I?” Daniel thought, “I wonder if he will like the present."
