Was this place dignified? Far from it. Small rooms hidden in a sewer system were never dignified, even if this one was suspiciously clean. Then again, a country like this could not afford to have any really ugly places, now could it? She knew that quite well, from back home, royal cities were always like this. The room was spacious, but empty. Getting furniture down here would have stuck out way too much, and Lan very much preferred secrecy. Hence the long, hooded cloak, obviously. Just to spite public opinion, she had not chosen a black one with a deep hood to conceal her identity. No, she had chosen a dark green one, with black rims and sash, as part of a fashion statement. Any of her guests would have taken similar precautions, not in color, but in style. At least, she hoped so. It was rare for many of the ring to gather, simply due to its decentralist nature. It was very likely that she did not even know half of the members it had right now, and that was a good thing. Anonymity was key, even if it was easy to recognize someone as a member, it was always best to not know too much about each other. There was such a thing as too much information after all, and not just about gross subjects, but also the mundane things. As long as she knew what the others were capable of, to utilize them, she did not need any more. And one of the skills she valued the most was punctuality. Even when it came to things like finding one’s way into a suburban tunnel system like this, she expected nothing less than coming at least in a 15 minute time window of the established time. Meaning she was there a good thirty early, and kept on waiting, drying her cloak a little. That was the mundane reason for the whole cloak business, after all. There was a slight merit in knowing that it would rain later, after all.
