“Damn it, why did I have to say such unnecessary things?” Daniel inwardly cursed at himself. If he hadn’t said what he kept quiet back at the clock tower, then neither of the two knights: Alexandra and Giovanni would’ve gotten involved in this. Now, that they fully understood the weight of the situation, conflict against the man who came in contact with Zeref was inevitable – and that accursed wizard as well. No, if he didn’t say anything, then the situation would have been far worse than he had anticipated. The swordsman couldn’t possibly imagine the kind of harm would come to that poor girl. It was far better off for Silvia to be in the care of the Rune Knights rather than being in a risk of getting captured and used for that sick ‘experiment’ for that man to make contract with the ‘Death’ itself. Daniel couldn’t let that happen. Letting this go on as is would only spell disaster for the world.
Only thing he could think of was to head to head west, so he headed for Port Town of Hargeon, and from there would make his way to Sindria. According to the news that he had heard, people have been seeing a scrawny, black-haired man with a runic cloak over him hitching a ride in a trade ship heading to that particular place. Daniel wasn’t sure why, but there was no reason for him to not go there and check to see if the rumors were indeed true; however, he would have to hurry.
For all he knew, Zeref had tendencies to easily escape. In a way, it was like trying to catch a fish with his own bare hands and every time he had that man within his fingers, he would slip away, unnoticed. For that reason, he needed an extra hand to perhaps… join him. It wasn’t something that he would do, but desperate times called for desperate measures. A few weeks back, he met a boy-monk who was particularly talented in reading other’s ‘chi’ energy; surely he would be of some form of help, especially when both of them had the same goals. For that reason, he travelled in forested areas in hopes of meeting him.
“Now, where are you…” Daniel silently spoke as he tapped his fingers along the pummel of his sword, “You must be around here somewhere.”
