Tell me what you can tell me; what does it mean to exist? I am not a scientist, i must believe in more than this! i cannot accept that everything that's real is only what our eyes can see and hands can feel! not even earth can hold us! Not even life controls us! Not even the ground can keep us down! you'll always be close to me, my friend! This is not the end! Blake had received an assignment before meeting his partner. While that was rare, it was far from unheard of. At any rate, it wasn't a big deal. There was a disturbance in Oak Town, and he was to investigate and render aid if needed. As the man relaying the message had said, not even a private fresh out of PT could screw this one up. The comment had made him bristle, but it didn't really matter. His superior officer had given him an assignment and that was that.
At least, that's what he told himself. And he did want to help people, so he left without saying a word about it. He'd have to get a sword at some point, but until then the hand-to-hand training that all the Knights had would suffice. That, and his magic. He hadn't seen anyone who could do what he'd been able to do ever since his encounter with Zeref, though he had heard rumours of Dragon Slayers, with magic that worked in a similar manner. The town he was looking for came into sight, snapping him out of his thoughts. More specifically, the town came into earshot. Blood-curdling screams rose out of the town in the distance, and Blake picked up the pace.
He arrived in the town near a hotel to see a red-haired man punching a zombie while a blue-haired girl dropped from the top of the hotel, magic glowing around her feet. He didn't have the time to pay attention to her landing; a zombie was behind the redhead ready to bite. The Rune Knight ran forward, his right arm shifting into stone, nails sharpening enough to cut into flesh. He thrust the stone hand forward, stopping the zombie's teeth on the hard stone. The Earth mage continued his forward motion, punching up through the back of the zombie's mouth.
The zombie shuddered and stopped moving, and Blake pulled his hand free, letting it collapse to the ground. "You should watch yourselves. From what we can tell, getting bitten makes you one of them. Remove the brain from the rest of the body. Oh, where are my manners? Blake Torsten, Rune Knight, at your service."
