HANG THE HEADLESS UPSIDE DOWN TO DRAIN
The street rabble were currently peasants, commoners and madmen who begged for a living, or peddled cheap wares of fake jewelery claiming to be authentic and foreign, from a strange country. A group of mercenaries baring the Kou empire passed by the, heading out of the city but Helot paid them no heed. He was more concerned about the actions of the novice recruit and his actions. Being the senior member, he needed to keep an eye on his every move and confirm he was trustworthy enough to trust in conflict or cautious situations without any complications.
A couple half pint kids pressed forward with their parents in toe, and the demon's salmon pink tongue swiped over his teeth, obvously contemplating something akin to his nature as he watched them scamper away. Well then, back towards the new member...His chin picthed back in a yawn, back straight as his eyes followed the young wards as they reached out towards the guards posted at either side of the walls. A corner of his maw curled sharply at his reaction, eyes narrowing with amusement. Why so tense?
Helot continued forward, picking up his pace until his arms brushed up beside the smaller boy's own, side by side. The guards, keen as they were, instantly plucked them from the crowd and one, simply curious, turned from his post and decided to approach the pair entering the city.
"Afternoon...travelers. What brings you to the city?" He spoke directly, wanting to make the encounter as painless as possible. Helot, pushing the lad aside, sauntered up towards the human, his words rolling dully from his maw in the form of polish dabble he had rehearsed time and again into the ears of unsuspecting mortals.
"Visiting some relatives on the other side of town. Escorting my nephew to my Sister's house." Their conversation wouldn't have to last long, however, as a pauper lunged for another guard, bringing their attention to the scrap as he was hauled off giving both Helot and Volt a chance to slip by unnoticed.
