Kai gave a satisfied sigh as Ellie replied in kind to his declaration, and at her return of the kiss to him. The plan to head to their room was easily accepted by her, much to his delight, and he kept up with her as she dragged him along, and grinned back at her as she looked at him with that smile of hers. As they moved, Kai quickly dashed a bit faster than her and swept her up into his arms, holding her easily because of her light weight. He glanced at her momentarily to see her reaction to this, but looked away just as quickly to make sure they didn't fall down the stairs. Once they were at the bottom, he nimbly worked the doorknob with his forearm, turning it and shouldering open the door. And here they were, in the place that had started it all. Here they had spent their first night together. Here he had found her past. Here they had stayed together and grown close, and here she had confessed her love for him. This place held memories for him, and they would be ever present, even if he followed through with his plans to leave Fairy Tail. He would need to tell Ellie soon enough, after all, he would need to take her with him. She wasn't a part of Fairy Tail yet, so she wouldn't need to leave Fairy Tail, and he figured that she would easily follow him. But he would still check with her first.
Now Kai carried Ellie over to their beds, first sitting on the edge, then turning and lifting his legs up on it. At the same time he turned Ellie in his arms to line her up with him, the same way he had held her on top of him when they first became a couple. Now that they were situated, he gave her a small peck on the cheek before continuing his history where he left off.
"Well. Lessee, I believe we were at my childhood. So you know that I was born and raised in Veronica. Well, with it being such a small country, my family was among the richest in the country. We were only outranked by the royal family and a few lords, anyway, my father and mother were both traders and mages. My father knew requip magic and my mother was a database mage, mother always kept track of finances and such, where our caravans were, who had borrowed money from us, yadda yadda yadda. Anyway, along with my parents I had my twin sister, Mizuki. We were closer than anyone would expect from siblings, all because our parents were often busy, my father guarded the most important caravans himself. Together they made plenty of enemies. But I will get to that later. Anyway, my sister and I were close, and we made it through our lives happily together. We played of course, but we also learned from the servants various crafts. Cooking, blacksmithing, and sewing I learned when I was young, and my sister learned other skills. We were happy, we did only see Mother and Father rarely, but enough to know they cared for us. But, that came to an end just after we turned five. Like I said, Mother and Father made enemies, and because of that, they were killed on their way to work. Another company had had enough of our success, and the quickest way to fix that was to remove the main problems. They were going to kill us, my sister and me, but we escaped. We managed to get to an old cottage we had built for our servants, but we never used it. We lived there for awhile, and eventually we came to terms with it. Death is a hard thing for a pair of five-year-olds to cope with." Kai paused here, a tightness emerging in his throat. He couldn't continue, not right now. It still hurt...the loss. "I...I can tell you the rest later. It...it's a story that needs its own time." He looked away now, over at the wall, thinking about the loss he had suffered. His parents...his dragon...his sister. He was too young to protect those in the past, but now he had someone again, someone he could protect. Ellie had given him hope, and love. Those filled part of the hole that had developed in the last 13 years. He would need to tell her soon, tell her that he was leaving Fairy Tail to find Mizuki.
