An idea... (Read 409 times)

Um... hi.

I stumbled into your site from RPG-D, and it looks interesting...

I'm... mostly wondering if I can have a character of mine in here.

My character's backstory would be something like this:

• There was once a mage who was involved in a certain historic event; I'm thinking that he once lived in the mage-oppressive empire that preceded Magnostadt, and was actively seeking for a peaceful resolution between the mages and the authorities.
• That was until the incident that lead to his seeming death, which, while impressively having no casualties besides himself, severely weakened the regime's military, and triggered the revolution that would overturn the government's hold, although it would be in a manner he would not have approved of. If that's not possible, I'd like something similar to this, some similar tie to history, though I'm not sure what else...
• The mage would have accomplished this supposedly impossible feat by making a deal with an ethereal entity, a Being on a different level from Celestial Spirits.
• My character would wake up in the present, without any memory of who he was (sorry for the cliche...), but, as he pieces himself together, the clues seem to be pointing out that he was that historic figure, and that he had actually done a sort of Rip Van Winkle...
• He'll start as a novice mage, but as he OOCly levels up, ICly he does not always actually learn magic; mostly he 'remembers' how he used to do it.

  {the Secret}My character isn't actually the mage; rather, he is actually the Being that the mage contracted with. The Being, while powerful, cannot manifest in this plane as it is, so he copied the mage's identity as an avatar in this world; another reason he did so was that the Being wanted to understand why the mage acted as he did. This had the unfortunate effect of sleeping for some decades and mixing his recollections with the mage's... although this might be something he intended from the start. Whether the mage is still somehow alive somewhere is a possible plot... or an Edolas version?

So... is it all right if I make this sort of character here? Would some things need to be changed?

Hrmm... so I guess the stuff I outlined up there, including the spoilered secret, doesn't significantly change the history or the world, so it's fine? X.X

I saw stuff about Guardian Mages in the Magic Types, so I figured it shouldn't be too much a stretch (although it's sort of in reverse), and the other parts will be additional lore for Magnostadt...

If that is so, I'll register when I have the time. : )

I wouldn't mind if you made lore for Magnostadt, the additional depth sounds cool.
