- - - - - Too calm. A normal man, no matter how powerful if they were a magician, would have, at the very least, choked on that submission hold. Had anyone attempted to do the same thing to her, she wouldn't have hesitated to lift them up and chuck them against a tree, or if she's feeling froggy, she'd even ram the spot between their legs against a steel post, just to see their reactions.
Pain and humiliation are other examples of what defines a human being. Of all the negative things human emotion brings to someone, this is perhaps the most common. Next to the whole jealousy issue and all, this is what a lot of human beings wished upon their rivals, just to gain a semblance of satisfaction if they were to fall, and oh how genuine those feelings are. One could pretend to be friends with another, but when success is granted to only one, jealousy causes rage, and rage causes hatred, and hatred causes the want to inflict pain and humiliation upon that person whom they once called a friend. Every single human being has an ego, and its only a matter of time before that ego completely engulfs that person, turning them into someone, or something, that is virtually unrecognizable how they were before. Its a dog eat dog world, and Rome has lived long enough to see it all. She has lived long enough to have learned how a human functions, and she has learned to stay away from social interaction, and following the system of how a human life generally works.
It does get lonely, especially at first, where she had to learn the ins and outs of how she would fit in. The cold, lonesome nights without any warmth - even now, occasionally, she dreads not having someone beside her. Telling her what to do, assigning tasks for her every day job. That's what she's used to doing for so long, and all of a sudden, she's turned into a human because certain authorities found her to be too destructive and too dangerous to be of any help.
Maybe that's what this cold touch reminded her of? Who knows. Subconsciously, her brain hadn't even registered the fact that this man's touch was as cold as ice. Even after she released her grip, the vibes that she had gotten from this human contact had spread, and her eyes foretold the lingering human emotion that was perhaps the most common one in her life so far - nostalgia.
Quickly, the girl picked up her bags and stood back up, the faraway look in her eyes still evident to those whom paid attention. As expected, there was still no response from her. It would take a hell of a lot more than just a few words to attract her attention enough for her to even begin contemplating on verbal responses.
