The blonde sat patiently on the bench she had seated herself upon, hands clasped together in her lap as she glanced around almost constantly to see who was coming and who was going. Much to her irritation, her heart was hammering in her chest, and it was obvious that she was nervous. What if Kai had decided not to show up, that he had enough of her stupid behaviour and left her alone? The very thought made her want to cry, so she kept it out of her mind and told herself instead that he was simply running late. Usually it was the woman that was late for a date, as she spent a long time getting ready, so it was rather ironic that the guy was late. Just thinking of this meeting as a ‘date’ made Ellie’s face light up with pink, and it took all of her willpower to regain her normal composure one more. She looked to the other side curiously, watching people pass and go about their daily business. It intrigued her to think that everybody had their own lives to go about with, and that they had their own problems too. While she was in more of her reflective moods, she would daydream for hours about these prospects, but she was wrenched out of her thoughts by a familiar voice calling her name. She blinked her wide magenta orbs and faced forward, smiling at her white-haired boy that was a friend… or boyfriend for short. Numerous Fairy Tail guild members said as much whenever she protested that she didn’t like Kai in that way, and much to her dismay, it had caught on. She had no choice but to look up at him as he stood right in front of her, casting her figure in shadow, which was something she was strangely happy about. The more she was kept out of the sun the better, she realised, as she subconsciously raised a hand to rub the bridge of her nose. She noticed how the white-haired mage looked her up and down, possibly admiring the new outfit she wore, but she wasn’t overly sure. And yes, much to her delight, he noticed and stated as much, saying that the clothes looked good on her. A small, barely detectable pink tinge dusted her cheeks with gratitude and embarrassment, happy that she did look good in the new clothing, but still finding it a compliment all the same. He then asked if she wore the new outfit just for him, and before she could say what she was really thinking, her hands placed themselves upon her hips where she was sat on the bench and a small pout was on her lips. “N-N-No!” She protested, but the stutter in her voice and redness on her cheeks spoke otherwise. She sighed deeply at her own stupidity and shook her head at her previous statement, smiling up at Kai as she decided to give that another try. “I mean yes…” She admitted shyly, averting her gaze from him as she scratched the back of her head in an embarrassed manner. Kai suggested that they get going, how he had overslept and he wished to spend time with her, stating that she was ‘all he needed’. It took her by such surprise that she didn’t notice his coyly raised eyebrow, and her eyes widened as her hand instinctively wrapped around his to pull herself up. “W-Well, of course we should get going.” She nodded vigorously, the index finger of her other hand shyly tapping the side of her face, cursing herself as she felt the heat rise to her cheeks once more. How was it that he made her into such a nervous wreck as of late? She needed to take a deep breath and just calm down; he wasn’t going to find her getting all flustered as a turn-on point, was he? Most definitely not. She managed a smile as the redness drained from her face, while inside her thoughts she continued the manta of ‘Calm… calm… calm…’ to keep herself cool. She forgot about the sun’s burning rays as she held her companion’s hand, and she gave it a gentle squeeze before gesturing out towards the town with her free hand. “Great! Hehe, I’ve been looking forward to this since we planned it yesterday!” She claimed delightedly, her eyes shimmering softly and the smile on her lips continuing to grow. She took the lead, tugging at Kai’s arm and pulling him across to the town centre, glancing about for where they should go and look. They had decided just to browse, hang around, grab some lunch and snacks; that kind of thing. When she thought about it, she realised more and more how much like a date it sounded. Ellie made numerous noises that gave away the fact that she was thinking very hard, and she finally seemed to settle on the street across the road from them. It looked rather interesting and she had never ventured down it before, so why not give it a try? “ C’mon!” She cooed enthusiastically to her companion, tugging at his arm and pointing down the street she had chosen, wondering if he actually knew what was down here. It was decorated rather elaborately with flower boxes at the street entrance, and old-style lamp posts with lacrima bulbs would light the way if it got dark. The mysterious atmosphere was tantalising, and how better to explore it than with the young man she was so smitten with?
